Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards below a value of ten are counted at their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely portray the 2 hands to be given out).

2 hands of two cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand is the total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven and 5 gives a score of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be given depending on the following rules:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have money left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie normally pay 8 to one but sometimes nine to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties will occur lower than one every ten hands. Run away from placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are richly better – 9 to one versus 8 to 1)

When played smartly, baccarat presents generally good odds, away from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some common misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future results. Staying abreast of prior conclusions on a chart is simply a waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and almost certainly most successful technique is the one-three-two-six scheme. This plan is employed to pump up payouts and cutting back risk.

commence by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
