Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued under 10 are said to be at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they strictly represent the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven and 5 produces a tally of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the following protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of 8 or nine, the two bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Winning wagers on the banker payout 19 to twenty (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have money remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pay out 8 to 1 but sometimes nine to one. (This is a bad wager as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. Still, odds are somewhat better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

When done properly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, away from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some well-known false impressions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future actions. Staying abreast of previous conclusions on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and feasibly most successful technique is the one-three-two-six scheme. This scheme is used to amplify payout and reducing risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove 4 so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third wager, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
