Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards below a value of 10 are worth their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they just symbolize the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 … five results in a total of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be given out depending on the following codes:

- If the player or banker has a total of eight or 9, each players stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Victorious wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie usually pay 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will occur lower than one every 10 hands. Stay away from putting money on a tie. Nonetheless odds are richly better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)

When done properly, baccarat offers fairly decent odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not a predictor of future outcomes. Tracking of past results on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and probably most successful tactic is the one-three-2-6 technique. This plan is used to increase successes and reducing risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum total of six on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
