Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards of a value less than 10 are said to be at their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they only depict the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as 5 has a score of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card can be dealt depending on the following codes:

- If the bettor or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have money left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pay 8 to one and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is an awful wager as ties occur lower than one every 10 hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Even so odds are vastly better – 9 to one versus 8 to 1)

When done smartly, baccarat provides relatively good odds, aside from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an actual indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of past results on a chart is for sure a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and probably most successful tactic is the 1-three-two-6 scheme. This technique is deployed to maximize successes and controlling risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. In other words you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
