Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below a value of ten are give a value of face value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they strictly portray the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for each hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as five gives a total of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the foll. practices:
- If the bettor or banker has a total of 8 or nine, then both players stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have cash still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie by and large pay 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a terrible bet as ties will occur less than 1 every ten hands. be wary of betting on a tie. Even so odds are far better – nine to one versus eight to 1)
Played accurately, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, away from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of historic results on a chart is a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most commonly used and possibly most successful method is the one-3-2-6 method. This schema is deployed to pump up wins and cutting back risk.
commence by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
